At $225 apiece, novelty “Elevator” sunglasses custom-designed by Wiz Khalifa has hit the mark on sales and is nearly sold out. Inspired by the shades Wiz wore in his video, “Black and Yellow”, Wiz decided to produce an initial 500 pairs through a partnership with local Pittsburgh glasses chain, Eyetique.
The aviator-inspired design comes in black and in tortoise design (which is a mesh of green and brown), giving you that cool look you need! It has a candid finish that will make sure your eyes are protected and you maintain that style you have just right.
Sales have been topped, and a speculated second edition is in the making. In fact, online visitor counts have risen from 3,000 to over 40,000 as soon as the glasses showed up on the market with over 30% in international sales. This increased market makes the sunglass industry boom, especially with Hip Hop artists bringing in the cake with their public appeal and support.
Other than this, the pair that started it all, used for the video at hand, is reported to be worth $10,000. This is not for sale though and will remain in Eyetique’s collection.
